Cameron Hughes
Since being named the UK’s first Event Management Student of the Year upon graduating from Edinburgh Napier University in 2021, Cameron has established himself as a prominent young leader in the UK events, festivals and live music scene. Cameron spent the first years of his career racking up extensive experience in a multitude of roles on projects across the country and internationally, from TED Talks to Formula 1. Today, he works predominantly in festival and event producing, tour and stage management, and accessibility and sustainability consultancy for live music.
As a Trustee and Vice Chair of Edinburgh's Hidden Door Festival, Cameron contributes to the cultural vibrancy of the city, supporting the festival's mission to reveal hidden parts of the city and showcase and celebrate new and emerging artists. His passion for improving the accessibility of live events led him to join the board of Drake Music Scotland, a charity that creates opportunities for disabled musicians and supports them to realise their potential. Cameron has also been appointed to sit alongside other industry leaders and experts on an Industry Advisory Board for tourism, hospitality, festivals, and events at Edinburgh Napier University, reflecting his commitment to shaping the future of event management education and fostering the next generation of industry professionals.
